Ira W. Whitlock, Esq. – Ira is the founder and CEO of Whitlock Law Office, LLC. He is an aggressive lawyer who fights vigorously for his clients. Ira was raised in Pontiac, Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1988 from the University of Minnesota in Morris, Minnesota. He went on to study law at William Mitchell College of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree in 1993. Ira worked various law clerk jobs which gave him the experience necessary to immediately open his own practice such as his position as a Research Assistant for Professor Eric Janus at William Mitchell College of Law, his practice as a Certified Student Attorney at Neighborhood Justice Center, and most notably his clerkship with the Honorable J. Thomas Mott of Ramsey County District Court.
Ira represents clients in both state and federal court, including felonies and misdemeanors. He also handles state and federal criminal appeals, including post-conviction relief cases. He has represented clients in high profile first degree murder and police brutality cases. Ira is a zealous advocate who consistently provides the community with honest and forthright representation. In addition to the time Ira devotes to his firm, this God fearing family man is blessed to be in a position to donate his time to the community. He has volunteered as a basketball coach for inner-city youth at the Jimmy Lee Recreational Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Ira does motivational speaking for youth at local schools, youth organizations and churches. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Loft Teen Center which is a teen drop-in center.
